Hallmark Cards

My name is Mike and I have been the general operations manager for Hallmark Cards Australia for the past 11 years.

Our building is 26 years old and finding the right facilities partner has always been an issue. Broken promises, over promised standards, staffing inconsistencies, poor quality cleaning, value for money…if the problem exists, we have experienced it.

That changed with a flip of a coin, literally.

I was about to complete a tender process when I received information from Fair Company. As the process was coming to the end and I did not feel I was blessed with amazing options I flipped a coin, heads I would call Fair Company, tails it goes in the bin.

The behaviour that got them to present was unique to them – They shared Hallmarks people values and commitment to running a business built on ethics. They were first facilities company to ever talk about their people as part of the solution as opposed to it being a side show.

Their presentation was to the point, about how they would achieve and maintain their results and how Hallmark would benefit from partnering with them. I was convinced that not only had I found the answer, it shared values with me and the business I worked for. Not only all of this but they were value for money.

Since taking over our contract on 1st November 23 they have achieved the following;

  • Done exactly what they promised

  • Behaved exactly as they promised

  • Worked ethically exactly as they promised

  • Treat their employees exactly as they promised

  • Charged exactly as they promised

  • Worked with me exactly as they as promised

  • Completed the cleaning to the standard agreed, exactly as promised

I have gone from regular internal issues, complaints which I have no defence for and an ever-present concern that visitors will attend our building and they will experience these issues to… nothing, not a single noise from anyone. And all because Fair Company has done exactly what they said they would, all the time.

It has been a shining light in a post COVID world that there are still businesses out there that have values, believe in them and most importantly, live those values every day.

I would recommend Fair Company to anyone. The experience has been a real treat for me personally and my ability to provide my colleagues and tenants with a building space that they can be truly proud of all the time.
